Aerith Play Arts Figure, More

Pictures of a prototype for an Aerith Play Arts action figure are now up on the Square Enix Products blog. Also, fans of the FF Trading Arts series may want to check out how a new series of upcoming Trading Arts Mini figures will look; included in this series is FFVII's Cloud, as well as Rinoa (FFVIII), Yuna (FFX-2), Vaan (FFXII), and Penelo (FFXII again). Finally, Square Enix is aiming toward a September release date (in Japan) for the second series of Advent Children Play Arts, which features Kadaj, Yuffie, and Reno.

Fan Fiction: Xi-Era, Sacrifices

It's time for another Fan Fiction update and this week I have two new pieces of content. The first is from Yuronova, who has added the twelfth chapter to his continuing epic. "Sacrifices" is rated PG-13 and contains Final Fantasy VII spoilers.

Talking of epics, we have a brand new one starting today. Citadel veteran Anguipes Seraph has submitted the first two chapters of "Xi-Era: Saeculum Apostasiae", an original story based in the Final Fantasy VII world some two thousand years in the future. In this new world an archaeological dig seeking underground materia incurs the wrath of an ancient planetary guardian. Check out the start of this fabulous tale, and what the mysterious group known as the Apostasy has to do with it. This story is rated R and contains some swearing, violence and religious themes.

That’s all for today, but expect more updates soon. Please be aware that submissions remain closed.

Crisis Core Site Goes Live

GAF has noticed that Square Enix's Japanese website for Crisis Core is now more of an official site, as opposed to just a placeholder page. A quick visit yields one of Square Enix's typically exquisite Flash sites, with some information about the game (in Japanese only), a wallpaper download, and original FFVII sound effects while clicking through the Characters section—definately a nice touch. Go check it out!

This Month's Theme, New CC and DC Pages, More

Happy April Fool's Day! And no foolin'—this month's theme is the ever-controversial Cait Sith, featuring a banner by myself. If you missed any of our previous themes, you can check them out on the Tenth Anniversary page.

There's lots of stuff in today's update, including some noteworthy additions in the Compilation of FFVII section. Here, the Crisis Core Characters page makes its debut, as do pages on Dirge of Cerberus' Omega Reports and G Reports; please note that all three of these pages—especially the DC ones—contain spoilers. In addition, the DC Lost Episode page and the CC FAQ have been updated and revised, and a fact sheet for DC was added to that game's Images & Media page.

Elsewhere, Cait Sith has been added to the Character Compedium, and the page on the "Red Man" in the Desert Prison has been updated. Finally, two new pieces have been added to the Fanart section; the first is a mock advertisement for a FFVII Tenth Anniversary edition by Mini Mog, and the second is a new Cloud and Sephiroth piece by Cloudyfan.
