Cait Sith rides around on the back of a huge stuffed Mog he magically brought to life. Megaphone in hand, he's always shouting orders and creating dopey attacks. When his slot machine attack works, the enemy lines look like an overturned toy box. His hobby is fortune telling, but like his personality, it's pretty unreliable.

From the Game:

When Cloud's party first met Cait Sith, they found him to be little more than an odd fortune telling "toy" with an informal manner of speech, when in truth he was a robotic spy remotely-controlled from Shinra Headquarters in Midgar. During this first encouter, Cait told Cloud his fortune, and seemed to become spooked by one which read, "What you pursue will be yours. But you will lose something dear." With this, Cait forcibly joined Cloud's party, though he appeared to be a bit of a coward when it came to fighting. Later, in Gongaga, Cloud and the others noticed that the Turks seemed to have followed them, but Cloud didn't suspect any of his fellow party members of being a spy.

Cait's true intentions came about during the party's quest for the Keystone. After the party acquired the sought-after stone, Cait stole it while Cloud and a friend were on a date at the Gold Saucer. Cloud chased Cait down, only to see the cat hand the Keystone off to Tseng, who hovered above Chocobo Square in a helicopter. Cait then confessed to Cloud and his date that he was indeed a Shinra spy, but he has been pondering the party's motives. Cloud wasn't swayed by this, and in order to stay in the party, Cait revealed that Marlene has been kidnapped on his behalf. Due to this blackmail, Cloud and the others now had no choice but to keep Cait with them.

After informing the party that the Shinra were headed to the Temple of the Ancients, Cait helped out the group when it was revealed that the Temple itself was the very Black Materia they were looking for. Shedding his former cowardice, and wanting to do something to help Cloud, Cait sacrificed his body in order to activate the mechanism to shrink the Temple. Shortly afterwards, a second Cait Sith arrived on the scene to take the original's place.

From then on, Cait assisted the party in other ways, first by freeing Barret in Junon after the party is brought there by Rufus, and later by informing them on the locations of the Huge Materia. After the Sister Ray was fired at the Northern Crater, Cait desperately called on his new friends to save Midgar from being destroyed by Hojo; his true identity—Reeve, Shinra's head of Urban Development—was revealed the process.

Compilation Appearances:

Cait Sith appears—sans megaphone and giant moogle—in Advent Children, Before Crisis, and Dirge of Cerberus; in this latter title, he is the only character besides Vincent who is playable.
