Game Information | Can Aeris Be Resurrected?

So you watched Aeris get her guts sliced by Sephiroth, and saw the cliffhanger ending. Can Aeris be revived? Is there a better ending?

The simple answer is no. Aeris cannot be returned at all. And no, her resurrection was not removed by Square to meet a rushed deadline. No right-minded game producer would cut corners on such an important aspect of a game.

Square scripted Aeris to be dead, and wanted her to remain that way. If you do want Aeris to return, e-mail Square proclaiming your disappointment of FFVII, and also sign the on-line petition.
