Welcome Adventchildren_ / U.S. Release of Before Crisis Questionable

The FF7 Citadel would like to welcome our newest affiliate, Adventchildren_,
a weblog community primarily dedicated to (what else?) Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. It's a cool and friendly place, so be sure to check it out!

Also, there has been some discussion lately about whether or not Before Crisis, the mobile game set six years prior to the original FF7, will ever be released outside of Japan-- or more specifically, in the United States...

Huge Update

There's a lot of new content on the Citadel today in various parts of the site. A new strategy guide, an update to an epic fanfic, an article on Advent Children, and even more goodies are just the tip of the iceberg; I've also been reorganizing things here and there, and have created a whole new section...

Release Date Update and a Small Correction

CloudANDTidus has written in to inform me that a December release for Advent Children is unlikely; according to Eyes On Final Fantasy, project development was at 60% at the end of October, and the film will not be released by the end of this year. An early 2005 release seems the most probable at this point, but nothing has been confirmed...

Also, there's been a small correction made on the page about Vincent's weapons; thanks to imagic5@aol.com for pointing out the error.

Release Date News and Advent Children Wallpaper

The current rumors as to Advent Children's release date have it slated to come out in Japan sometime in December. However, no official date has been announced, and upon searching many online import shops, none of them were taking preorders. We hope to have more information as it becomes available.

However, Itadaki Street Special, Square-Enix's board game title featuring characters from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest (including FFVII's Cloud, Tifa, and the recently-announced Aeris), is scheduled to come out in Japan on December 22-- just in time for you (very) last-minute Christmas shoppers! Our page on this game has been updated not only with this new info, but also with the designs for the FFVII characters.

Finally, the Advent Children section's Downloads page makes its official debut with a wallpaper by Citadel regular Mum.

There's lots more to come later this month (especially in regards to fanfiction), so stay tuned!

Pictures, Pictures, Everywhere!

We have quite a big update today, primarily in the realm of pictures.

First off, the Images & Media section gets tons of new pics: the character art from FFVII's menus, artwork of FFVII characters from the fighting game Ehrgeiz, a few new CG backgrounds, and a whole new subsection dedicated to the vehicles of FFVII. All of these pictures originated from Desibabu's now-defunct website (and one-time Citadel affiliate), The FFVII Battle Square. Not too long ago, he generously gave copies of all of his site's files to the Citadel, including these images. Of course, we plan to have more of the Battle Square's content up in the future, but for right now, check out these cool images. Thanks Desibabu for your incredible donation!

Next, we have an awesome addition, courtesy of ChibiTaryn, former Citadel Webmaster and the creator of the FFVII Citadel's deviantART Club. She has created a number of new linking banners for the Citadel, all sporting an Advent Children theme. You can download them from the Banners page, regularly found under Links. Thanks again, ChibiTaryn!

The Old FFVII Advertisements page under Game Info has also been updated, this time with a vintage FFVII magazine ad that was originally published in Rolling Stone! Cheers to longtime contributor The Thirteenth Dark Knight for sending it in.

Finally, there's a new fanart piece of Vincent and Yuffie by me in the Fanart section, and an update to the Credits page under Site Info.
