11/17/2004: "Huge Update"

There's a lot of new content on the Citadel today in various parts of the site. A new strategy guide, an update to an epic fanfic, an article on Advent Children, and even more goodies are just the tip of the iceberg; I've also been reorganizing things here and there, and have created a whole new section...

As you can see to your left, the Advent Children, Before Crisis, and Dirge of Cerberus sections have been removed, and in their place is one titled Compilation of FFVII. The purpose of this section is to collect info for all of the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" projects in one handy location. It not only contains all of the content that was in the previous three sections, but will hopefully in the future include pages and information about Crisis Core, the recently-announced PSP game that is set in the FFVII world.

You may also notice another change to the menu: the Forums link is now in its own subsection, along with the Citadel's spinoffs-- the IRC Chat, Reunion Tracks (the Citadel community listing), and the FF7 Citadel deviantART Club. I hope this makes navigating between these different elements of the Citadel that much easier.

Now, the new content! For fanworks, we have the following: the Article Archive has been updated with an interesting article by Uncle Elmo titled "Cause and Effect - The Theme of FFVII: Advent Children"; Phoenix's epic fanfic Curse of Memory has a new chapter (more will follow in the near future); and a special section has been set up in Fanart dedicated to Pixel Art, with two pieces by ChibiTaryn to kick things off. By the way, cheers to SOLDIER Officer 81 for helping me sort through some of the recent fanfiction submissions.

In the Advent Children section, a bunch of awesome screenshots are now available on AC's Images & Media page. These are high-quality versions of previously released images, and the detail in them is incredible, so be sure to check them out; much thanks to Uncle Elmo for submitting these screenshots. Also new in AC is a wallpaper by me; you can find it on AC's Downloads page.

Finally, under Strategy, we have posted the first of a series of in-depth guides to the mini-games located in the Gold Saucer. This first guide, dedicated to Battle Square, covers numerous aspects of this mini-game, including handicaps and prizes. Thanks go out to Desibabu for writing the original draft of this guide, which was previously featured on his old site, the FFVII Battle Square.
