Final Fantasy VII Famicom/NES Cart on eBay

As previously reported, there exists a Chinese pirate version of Final Fantasy VII for the Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System. Today, again via GameSniped comes the news that one of these carts has shown up on eBay. As of this writing, it's still at its opening bid price of $24.99 with about six and a half days left to go. Good luck to anyone who chooses to bid on this rare oddity!

ETA (4/29): The auction has been removed. The seller noted in the GameSniped article's comments section that "Squeenix complained and had my auction pulled."

Fanfiction: Final Fantasy VII-Twisted and The Queen of Midgar

After that brief maintenance to the Article Archive and Fanfiction sections, we have returned with a flurry of new reading material for Citadeler's to devour. First up we have two new chapters for "The Queen of Midgar", continuing the epic alternative reality story written by Jacinth Nun and staring Reno, Rude and Tseng of the Turks. Again, this story is rated PG-13, so check it out!

Our next update to the archive is a piece of work originally written back in 1997. It had a good readership, was fully revised in 2004, but lost hosting and was never put back online until now. Today I'm happy to announce that the original author, Snowpuppet, has asked the Citadel to re-host "Final Fantasy VII-Twisted" in its revised form. Over the coming weeks we will post the full thirty chapter alternate reality story, of which you can read the first three right now. Twisted is also rated PG-13, and I urge you to go read.

Finally, a small issue has been fixed with "Midgar Story" that didn't allow access to the fifth chapter. We apologies for this inconvenience. As usual, submissions to the fanfiction and article archive are open for business, but please make sure to read the submission policy first.

Make sure to check back next week for more updates.

This Month's Theme, Take Two (and Don't Forget the Lard!)

Now that April Fools' Day has come and gone, I feel it safe to reveal our real header banner for this month. Our theme is still Shinra, but this time as represented by the executives: President Shinra, Rufus Shinra, Scarlet, Heidegger, Hojo, Palmer, and (last but not least) Reeve. Oh, and although he's not an exec, the Shinra Manager is still in there as well!

Thanks once again goes out to Probablee for the header banner artwork! And finally, if you missed the "Shinra Manager" version of the theme, it can now be found on the Tenth Anniversary page.

This Month's Theme, the Letters in Tifa's Room, More Staff Shuffling

For April, our theme is dedicated to the almighty Shinra Electric Power Company, represented here by that loyal, upstanding employee, the Shinra Manager. Thanks goes out to Probablee for this month's banner art! As usual, all of our previous themes can be found on the Tenth Anniversary page.

Not much for today's site update, save for an entirely new addition to Secrets & Mysteries: a page covering the three letters that can be found in Tifa's room.

Finally, we'd like to formally announce that Jako Hunter has recently joined the staff as our latest Final Fantasy Discussion and Compilation Forum Moderator, taking over from the recently-promoted Ex-SOLDIER. Welcome aboard, Jako!
