Dissidia Scan Roundup

Complementing yesterday's post about what the latest issue of Famitsu has to report about Dissidia: Final Fantasy are the scans of the article itself, which includes a full four pages focusing on Cloud and Sephiroth. PSP Hyper has them, and they can be viewed here.

PSP Hyper also has some recent scans from V-Jump, including a piece of CG art depicting all of the heroes and villains. Larger versions of these same scans can be viewed at Korean site VideogamerX.

Dissidia: Cloud and Sephiroth Gameplay Details

IGN has an article up today which features details from the latest issue of Famitsu regarding Dissidia: Final Fantasy and more specifically, the game's FFVII characters.

Cloud's moves include several that launch opponents into the air; he also has a skill that resembles his final attack from Advent Children. In "EX Mode", a state during which characters can use special attacks, Cloud can wield the Ultima Weapon and pull off powerful moves that send opponents flying across the map.

As for Sephiroth, according to the article: The FFVII villain has a sword so fast that it can't be spotted -- well, except for the damage that it leaves behind! Takahashi explained that it's possible to delay the timing of your attacks during combos in order to deal more damage. During EX mode, Sephiroth can both fly and use "that" skill. I'm guessing "that" skill could be either one of his powerful Safer Sephiroth moves, like Supernova, or the attack he used to kill Aeris in the original FFVII.

The article also covers Dissidia's story and multiplayer modes. As a reminder, Dissidia comes out in Japan on December 18th, a little less than a month from now.

Fanfiction: Twisted, Identity and Midgar Story

We have three exciting new additions to the Citadel's fanfiction archive today. First up is chapter fourteen and fifteen in our continued posting of "Final Fantasy VII-Twisted", Snowpuppet's alternate reality take on the FFVII story.

Next we have a new submission from long time contributor Yuronova. Her new epic "Identity" follows a story that runs parallel to Cloud Strife's adventures, in which a young man is called out by a dream to attend the Reunion. It's rated PG-13, and suitable for everyone.

And finally, shaking off the risk of falling into the dead epics archive for another year, the next 'annual' chapter of "Midgar Story" has arrived from JetNoir. It's a riveting tale in which the city of Midgar is just days away from destruction, and is defiantly worth the read.

As usual you can find all the details on how to send your own work to the Citadel by reading our submission policy. Please note that a minor revision to the page was made to allow for the submission of Crisis Core fanfictions now that the game is available in English. I applogise that this wasn't changed sooner.

Square Enix Online Shop Comes to Europe

Today, Square Enix launched the European branch of their Official Online Merchandise Shop. Right now, orders can be only taken from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, but availability for other PAL territory countries will be added later on.

From what I've seen, the store features many—if not all—of the same items that the US one carries, including Final Fantasy VII action figures, jewelry, and more. To check it out, go here, but be forewarned that as of this writing the site is being slammed with lots of traffic, and thus may take a while to load up.
