Elsewhere on the site we have a few minor updates on both the Links and Staff pages. Regarding the later, Reeve has officially taken over the Citadel's deviantART Club from the retired ChibiTaryn. Several updates to the site have already been made (including some new affiliates) so please swing by and if you haven’t already, sign up!

Finally, we are currently looking for a contributor who would be able to capture a couple of specific Crisis Core screenshots for us for a future site update. If you’re interested please reply in the comments section or send an e-mail to the Citadel. I’d also like to take a moment to remind all visitors who plan to make a submission to read the Submission Policies page before contacting us, taking particular note as to which e-mail address you should use. Thanks.

Odds & Ends: Dissidia Release Info, Interview With Kanji Tashiro

Amongst the other announcements from this past weekend's DKΣ3713 event was additional information pertaining to Final Fantasy Dissidia, including its release month in Japan (Dec. 2008) and news of a special PSP bundle and Potion drink.

Elsewhere, Anime News Network has posted an interview with Square Enix's National Manager of Merchandise, Kanji Tashiro. One of the topics discussed is FFVII:

Well, obviously Final Fantasy VII is still really popular, and while I can't speak for the entire team, to overview what Tetsuya Nomura has said in regards to the game in interviews, FFVII holds a special place in the development team's heart, so they want to revisit it as much as possible. Right now that same team is working on Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts. Once they're done with those projects, they're probably going to revisit Final Fantasy VII. Regarding the merchandise, the characters from FFVII appear in a lot of other titles, so there are many different versions of Cloud and Sephiroth that haven't been realized as merchandise yet, so the fans can look forward to that.

Mr. Tashiro also notes that the Cloud and Sephiroth AC figures are probably their best selling items, and that the Cloud and Hardy Daytona Play Arts set has also been doing very well.

At the end of the trailer, the March 2009 release window and FFXIII demo are mentioned, as well as a special PlayStation 3 bundle that will include a copy of AC Complete.

Advent Children Complete Gets Release Month, FFXIII Demo

This probably isn't the huge shocking announcement set to come out of the Square event DKΣ3713, but it's an announcement none the less.

According to reports (one, two) from the event from the good people at 1UP, the initial blu-ray run of Advent Children Complete will come with a bonus disc that will include trailers of Final Fantasy XIII Versus, Agito and a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII. Whether or not this disc will be included with the English run is unknown, but as Japan and North America are on the same region in regards to Blu-Ray, importing seems like the viable option for those wanting to pick this up; AC Complete hits Japanese retailers in March 2009.

Now, I wonder what the big, shocking announcement will be?

Stay tuned.
