E3 Preview, a New Affiliate, and More
Square Enix has recently unveiled a massive lineup for this year's E3. FFVII-related media to be featured include Advent Children, Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus, and FFVII Snowboarding. Check out the full list of titles in the company's latest press release. Thanks to CloudANDTidus for the info!
For our second order of business, I'd like to welcome a new affiliate to the Citadel. Tuulisti's Website is probably the most comprehensive resource for FFVII collectables on the Web, and we're proud to affiliate with this unique and informative site. Be sure to check it out!
The Links page has been updated with this new affiliate, as well as with another site. Finally, Citadel visitor Pike has contributed a schematic of the Highwind, which has been added to the CG Vehicle Models section of the Images & Media page.

Compilation of FFVII Section Updated
For today's update, we have an all-new page covering errors and mistakes found (so far) in Advent Children, presented in much the same spirit as the Errors, Mistakes, and Contradictions page under Secrets & Mysteries. Also in the AC subsection is an update to the Merchandise page, including recent information about the Play Arts figures (see previous site update), as well as the addition of the limited-edition AC Zippo lighter.
Finally, there's a small update to the Characters page for Before Crisis. Numerous character images have been added, including some familiar faces; we hope to have more info on these characters soon.

Compilation of FFVII Merchandise Update
Three of Kotobukiya's upcoming Advent Children Play Arts figures-- Sephiroth, Vincent, and Tifa-- are now available for preorder at import etailer HobbyLink Japan. Each figure has a retail value of ¥3800, and a rough release date of August 2005 is being given. Currently, there are no preorders being taken for any of the other announced figures (including Cloud), so it's possible that they will be released at a later date.
Also, in Square Enix's small but growing line of Dirge of Cerberus goods, a key chain (¥1600) and "Vincent's silver earring" (¥3800) have been added. Both items are expected to be available sometime this month.

A Small Bit of News Regarding Crisis Core
CloudANDTidus has informed us that the temporary name of the fourth entry in the Compilation of FFVII, "Crisis Core", is now permanent, and a new rough release date (the "beginning of 2006", as opposed to the previous date of just "2006") has been posted on the official site. We hope to have more information on this most mysterious member of the Compilation as it becomes available.
In other news, Meaning of the Masamune Blade has been updated with an important correction; thanks goes out to Goro Nyudo Masamune for the information. Also up today is a new piece by Yuronova in the Fanart section.

And Speaking of Square Enix Sites...
...the official English-language website for Advent Children is now online! I must note that this site loads rather slowly; a good broadband connection is highly recommended. Thanks to Uncle Elmo at the Forums for the link!

Dirge of Cerberus Site Live
Square Enix has finally created an official site for Dirge of Cerberus. There's not much there now, but this will doubtless change in the future. For future reference, the Links page has been updated with the link to this new site, as well as the one for Crisis Core. Thanks to CloudANDTidus for the tip!
Also new today is an addendum to What We Shouldn't Have Seen III, sent in to us by The Jinx. Thanks!

But Seriously, Folks...
All joking aside, we have a real, honest-to-goodness update today. Irena's "Arrogance and Fear" has been added to the Short Stories wing of the Fanfiction section, and under Epics, Yuronova's Sacrifices has been updated with a new chapter.

Before Crisis Coming to the Nokia N-Gage
In a surprise move, Square Enix has announced that Nokia has secured the North American rights to Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII for future release on the N-Gage handheld. The N-Gage, of course, is a combination gaming system and mobile phone that has been the victim of bad press and lackluster sales. However, Before Crisis, which has previously been rumored as a potential Nintendo DS game, has the potential of becoming the NGage's first true "killer app" which will revive this platform to new heights.
Will Before Crisis lead to a general acceptance for the N-Gage, and perhaps even more important, will Final Fantasy VII fans be willing to shell out for a platform previously best known for "sidetalkin'"? Read the press release and judge for yourself.
