05/31/2009: "ESRB rates Final Fantasy VII for PS3 and PSP"

According to Joystiq PlayStation, the ESRB has recently rated Final Fantasy VII for both PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3, confirming Square-Enix's intention of rereleasing the PSone title outside Japan. FFVII International was made available on the PlayStation Store back in April, and while it's possible to acquire the game in all its foreign language glory, many fans have eagerly awaited a localized downloadable release.

With ebay sellers wanting extravagant amounts for the original game, a release of the title on PSN would be a great opportunity for new gamers to experience Final Fantasy VII for the very first time and for older veterans to have a legal way of keeping it in their pocket.

While no date has been announced (or indication that it will come to the European Store), this would be a great title to go alongside the E3 announcement of the download only PSP Go.
