07/30/2015: "Final Fantasy Explorers Set for Western Release"

The 3DS exclusive Final Fantasy Explorers, Square Enix's take on Monster Hunter, has been confirmed to be releasing in the Americas on January 26, 2016, according to an official press release. In addition, Eurogamer reports that it will come out in Europe only three days later, on January 29th. It was originally released in Japan on December 18, 2014 and earned a score of 32 out of 40 points from Famitsu.

Much like Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy Explorers has a heavy focus on co-op multiplayer. The story concerns the hunt for crystals, and gameplay features summons and what sounds like a robust job system. Why this game is being mentioned on the Citadel is because of the Trance ability, which allows players to turn into characters from other Final Fantasy games.
