04/11/2009: "Importing Final Fantasy VII International on PSN"

Yesterday Square-Enix surprised gamers by breaking their long standing stance against rereleasing games on digital distribution services when they made Final Fantasy VII International available on the Japanese PlayStation Network store. While we can only hope that this will be followed by the US and European release in the future, you can "import" the game from the Japanese store today. This is possible with with any PS3 or PSP system (they are region free) and can be achieved by following our step by step guide. Please take note that Final Fantasy VII International has no English language text before considering this purchase.

I wouldn't say they broke it, since they've released others before, but FFVII International is the first Final Fantasy game to be digitally distributed ;)
