05/16/2007: "Crisis Core Musical Preview, Before Crisis Rumored for PSP"

Among the bits of swag available at Square Enix Party was a music CD sampler containing tracks from two unreleased games: Final Fantasy Dissidia and Crisis Core. PSP Fanboy has posted links to MP3s ripped from the disk; the two Crisis Core tracks are the game's main theme and "Last Order -Crisis Mix-". (source: Gaming Today)

Next up is a rumor: Before Crisis may be ported to the PSP. The source of this is the following passage from Next Generation's Square Enix Party report: originally released on Japanese mobile phones, this cute little action-RPG set in the popular FFVII world will finally find its true audience when it's released on PSP, and with luxurious networking abilities. I played it for a few minutes on a friend's phone and didn't understand what was going on, though maybe the mileage will vary on the PSP.

Of course, there has been no official announcement from Square Enix concerning this alleged port, but we will keep you all posted.

If they do port before crisis to PSP, Square should expect a rise in the sales. I mean Crisis core and Before crisis on Psp. Any ff7 nut would get it. Am I right or right? =)

It would be more sensible to put Before Crisis on DS. People are going to complain that the graphics suck if it goes on PSP.

Oh yea... I never thought about that. It would be interesting if it is on the DS. The dual screen would make the game look more appealing i guess. =)

Well, the PSP has an official camera attachment (or rather, has one announced; don't know if it ever came out), while the DS doesn't. As Before Crisis requires a camera for its materia system, it makes more sense to put it on the PSP.

All these Square Enix games for the PSP has me wondering if they're doing it to keep on Sony's good side while they make up their mind about whether or not to give more support to the PS3 (since it's not doing so well and all).

here's to hoping before crisis comes out on PSP. There's no way my phone could play it. My friends call it 'the brick'. It's not even colour! That's only one of the many perfectly legitimate reasons it should come out on PSP.
