05/11/2007: "New Crisis Core Info, Square Enix Party, More"

Jeux France has posted a new scan from Shonen Jump which includes information about how summons will work in Crisis Core. Apparently, summon monsters such as Ifrit have to be fought and defeated; summoning them requires their reel to show up in the slots that are the core of the "Digital Mind Wave" battle system. The article (en français) and scan can be seen here.

Meanwhile, Square Enix Party 2007 is currently taking place in Japan. As previously reported on the Citadel, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Advent Children Complete are all present at the show; in addition, the former two games are playable on the show floor, as is Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode (source: NeoGAF Forums). One recently revealed new game is Final Fantasy Dissidia, a PSP title which appears to incorporate characters from several Final Fantasy games; no FFVII characters have been unveiled (yet?), but we'll be sure to keep an eye out for them! (UPDATE [05/12/07]: Sephiroth is said to be in Dissidia; meanwhile, Crisis Core's Japanese release date has been announced as being September 13th of this year. Thanks to CloudANDTidus for the tip!) If you'd like to discuss FF Dissidia or Square Enix Party in general, feel free to join our ongoing discussion in the Forums.

It'll be interesting to see if that digital mind wave memory system will work anything like the summon materia in FFVII or if it'll be all new. It would be cool if it's a further developed system of using materia that gives you control over it other than selecting the correct element :)
And of course, welcome Anguipes Seraph!
