12/05/2004: ""Compilation of FFVII" News and Other Stuff"

In Advent Children news, CloudANDTidus submitted a link to a 1UP article about the movie's impending release. It seems like the movie is officially scheduled to come out in 2005, but a more concrete date is not yet available (and that new trailer they're talking about? It's presumably the one featured on a DVD insert in the latest issue of Young GANGAN, a biweekly manga magazine published by Square Enix in Japan).

Also, Pamela Verbeck seems to have identified one of the locations in Dirge of Cerberus, specifically the one seen in this screenshot. Notice the banner hanging from the building? It seems to say "Hotel of Kalm". Pamela also noticed that the architecture is similar to the style seen in Kalm. At any rate, the DoC FAQ has now been updated with this new observation, as well as info on a couple of other locations we've seen.

In other news, the page on FFVII's Relation to Norse Mythology under Secrets & Mysteries has been updated with a note about references to Fenrir in Advent Children; also in that section, a new observation has been made about the Ghost in the Church. In addition, Phoenix's epic fanfic Curse of Memory has been updated yet again with three new chapters, and a new article has been submitted by Adrian Loder (author of, Playing Aeris... Even After She's Dead, located in Game Information), in response to various observations made about Aeris in the "What We Shouldn't Have Seen" series of writings that are located under Secrets & Mysteries.

Finally, a minor correction: Regent Cosmos' recent short story is actually titled "Renewal", not "Death".
