09/23/2004: "Dirge of Cerberus, FAQs, Ehrgeiz, and more!"

A couple of new details have come about regarding Dirge of Cerberus, and a stunning screenshot of Vincent (detail at left) has been officially released. Cloud's appearance in the game has been hinted at, but we have yet to see any visual proof. However, Cait Sith (without his moogle) has been spotted in a screenshot in the Japanese magazine V-Jump, but his exact role is currently unknown.

In other news, the FAQs have been updated, a couple of pages on Ehrgeiz have been added, and a new FMV error has been discovered...

As some of you may have heard, back in May, legendary FAQ scribe K. Megura (aka Kao Megura, real name Chris MacDonald) passed away. He was especially prolific, and although most of his work was for fighting games, he also wrote an immense (and immensely popular) FF7 FAQ/Walkthrough, which he wrote in 1997 (using the Japanese release) and continually revised up until earlier this year. In fact, this walkthrough was so popular that certain game magazines stole his content!

Under Game Information's Documentation and FAQs section, we have not only an updated version of K. Megura's "import" version of the FF7 Walkthrough (to replace our older copy), but a second FAQ of his, for the English-language release of the game. These FAQs are considered some of the best of their kind, and I highly recommend them.

Also new under Game Info is my own FAQ, an FMV Guide for the PC version of FF7. And for Game Info's Character Cameos section, Mum (aka Diamond Weapon) has written an informative piece on Ehrgeiz, the Squaresoft fighting game that features guest appearances by FF7 characters. In addition, Mum has contributed a number of screenshots from Ehrgeiz, which you can find here.

The Errors, Mistakes, and Contradictions page under Secrets & Mysteries now has a new entry for the mirror-image lettering on the Shinra No. 26 as featured in one of the FMVs. Also, a few technical errors (broken links and such) have been fixed in both Game Info and Secrets-- thanks to Digital Holocaust for pointing them out.
