Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Crisis Core Reunion announced on 25th Anniversary stream!

Last night Square held a Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration stream where they announced many new FFVII projects. You can watch the whole thing over on YouTube.

The first announcement was Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade coming to Steam. Previously an Epic Games Store exclusive, the game is out now and is currently discounted by 29%. It is also Steam Deck compatible.

Next up they announced a bunch of merchandise, including a buster sword digital clock, new Play Arts Kai figures, new jewelry and a new arrangement CD, which are available to pre-order from the Square Enix Store.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier followed, where they showed Season 3 "Highway Star" which includes a new map on Midgar Plateside, new weapons including the serpent launcher, new water materia and a new style, the machinist.

We then moved on to Ever Crisis, the episodic mobile game which retells the entire timeline of Final Fantasy VII. The new trailer included scenes from Crisis Core and the original Final Fantasy VII, including meeting Aerith at the church, President Shinra at the mako reactor, Reno destroying the sector seven plate and the Nibelheim flash back. The game is also expected to cover Advent Children, Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus. Ever Crisis will have a closed beta test in 2022 on iOS and Android and will be free to play with in-app purchases.

The stream then announced Crisis Core Reunion, a remaster of the PSP game for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, XBox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam this winter. A translation of the official website by @aitaikimochi promises HD graphics, new 3D models, fully voiced, newly arranged songs and that it will be "something greater than just a mere HD Remaster".

Finally a first look of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was shown, the second part of the Remake series. The video showed in enginge footage of the Nibelheim flash back and the scene where Zack carries Cloud back to Midgar. Rebirth will release next winter for the PS5.

At the end of the stream they also confirmed for the first time that the Remake series will be in three parts, with an untitled third game being the conclusion. Producer Yoshinori Kitase, Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura and Director Naoki Hamaguchi also released statements on Square's social media after the stream where Nomura teased that "some development has already begun on the third title".
