AC Complete and Dissidia News Tidbits

Final Fantasy Compilations has posted a one-page scan from V-Jump which covers Advent Children Complete. There isn't much new information, save for a tiny blurb which confirms that the mystery FFVII-related OAV slated for release alongside AC Complete is "On the Way to a Smile: Case of Denzel".

Next up, Edge Online has published a list of Japan's top 100 selling games in 2008, in which Dissidia: Final Fantasy comes in twelfth, with 660,262 units sold. Crisis Core, which came out in September 2007 in Japan, seems not to have long legs in that country, as it's not on the list at all.

Advent Children Complete: Worldwide Release on April 16

Kotaku has posted an English-language trailer for Advent Children Complete, which will go into a "limited release worldwide" on April 16th, the same date as the one previously confirmed for Japan.

No word yet on whether or not the North American and/or PAL versions of AC Complete will include the FFXIII demo disk. We'll post more info as it rolls in.

Dissidia Official NA Site Open, Release Date Rumor Quashed

The Square Enix Members Blog has announced the opening of the Dissidia: Final Fantasy official North American site, which can be seen in both "Cosmos" and "Chaos" versions. As is typical of Square Enix's site launches, there isn't much content right now.

As for a concrete North American release date for Dissidia, it's still unknown. Word that both it and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days would ship on August 31st of this year has been circulating throughout the internet recently, a rumor which a Square Enix representative has since said to be false. We're inclined to believe this report, seeing as how August 31st is a Monday, and major new game titles typically ship on Tuesdays in the US.

Custom Dissidia Screenshots, Crisis Core Play Arts Update

Forums Admin Ex-SOLDIER has posted some screenshots he took while playing the Japanese version of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. These custom screenshots feature Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall (FFVIII), both forms of Cecil (FFIV), and the Warrior of Light (FFI).

In other news, the Crisis Core Play Arts figures are now on sale at the Square Enix Official Online Merchandise Store for Crisis Core fans in the US. As usual, these Play Arts are less expensive than the Japanese versions (which came out last month) but should be identical in quality.

FFVII-Related Merchandise at NYCC 2009

Square Enix Products once again displayed their wares at this year's New York Comic Con, showing off both currently available and upcoming items. Among the items shown were some notable FFVII-related goods. The second wave of Kingdom Hearts Play Arts, which includes Cloud and Sephiroth in its lineup, was on display and is due out in the US in May. The new Crisis Core Play Arts figures of Zack, Cloud, and Aerith were also shown, along with the Final Fantasy Trading Arts Mini vol. 3 box set (which includes Aerith) and the soon-to-be-rare FFVII Play Arts Arms set.

Photos of these and other Square Enix items shown at NYCC can be seen at Toyark and Kotaku Australia.
