Square trademarks "Ever Crisis" and "The First Soldier"
Gematsu is reporting that Square Enix has filed trademarks for "Ever Crisis", "The First Soldier" and the Shinra Electric Power Company logo in Japan. While the Shinra logo is likely an updating or renewing of the company identity, the other two names are quite interesting.
"The First Soldier", a likely reference to Sephiroth could be an OVA or Novelisation timed to release between Remake chapters. Another possibility is that this could be a subtitle for the second game.
"Ever Crisis" is even more curious as it follows in the naming convention of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. AC (Advent Children), BC (Before Crisis), CC (Crisis Core) and DC (Dirge of Cerberus). While a new entry into the series isn't completely impossible, a more likely guess is that this could be a remaster of some of the Compilation games, possibly including both Before Crisis and Crisis Core in a single package. Up until now Before Crisis has never been released outside of Japan and Crisis Core remains a PSP exclusive.
