04/28/2014: "Final Fantasy VII Concert Scheduled for June 21 in Tokyo"

Symphony concerts celebrating the music of the Final Fantasy series are nothing new, but now, FFVII gets one all on its own. This Final Fantasy VII concert is taking place on June 21st at Tokyo's Suntory Hall, and is the first in a series called "Game Symphony Japan".

FFVII composer Nobuo Uematsu will be present for the concert, which is being conducted by Kenichi Shimura. Although the set list hasn't been unveiled yet, it will arranged so as to recreate the story of FFVII. Here's hoping for a CD recording of this performance in the future, or even some additional concerts outside of Japan.

One of my favorite concerts ever. Huge symphony great sound. Made me regret the four ff's I haven't played yet. Good variety, wasn't too heavy one single game which was nice. The highlight was nobuo himself joining the choir for one winged angel. He held a meet and greet after and was extremely nice. It was nice to thank him for the music he brought to us and he even signed my ff7 ost. Highly recommend any concert involving him.
