07/04/2012: "Final Fantasy VII PC Download Release Confirmed"

Well, it's official: the PC port of FFVII will be rereleased as a downloadable game. According to the official site, there is no set release date and it will be "Available Exclusively on the SQUARE ENIX Store". Achievements, Character Booster, and Cloud Saves are all confirmed. There is also an announcement trailer, viewable here at Andriasang.

Minimum System Requirements:
Windows 95 compatible system
DirectX 5.0
Intel Pentium 133 (recommended Pentium 200)
4 megs Video Card (8 megs 3D accelerator recommended)
32 megs of RAM
DirectX 5.0 compatible sound card (AWE64 or XG-MIDI compatible recommended)

Pretty sure the newer release requires 2ghz as minimum?

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit
2GHz Processor or faster
DirectX 9-compatible graphic card
