08/12/2006: "Dirge of Cerberus In Stores Tuesday"

Yes, I'm still alive, and for the most part, this is just a quick update on things. I've been busy with a large project recently (see The Blue Shinra Project for details, if you wish) which is a major reason why there haven't been any site updates lately. Thanks to everyone who has sent in submissions lately; as a fair number of them are now in the queue, submissions will be temporarily closed, save for news items.

Now, this isn't so much news as a reminder, but for those of you living in North America, Dirge of Cerberus ships on August 15. Early reviews of this newly-revised version of the game have been mixed, ranging from favorable to poor; some of the more prominent reviews thus far include IGN's, which gave it a 70 (out of 100) (source: Metacritic) and EGM, which gave it an average score of 4.7 (out of 10.0) (source: CAG forums). Of course, the Citadel plans to review DC as well, so stay tuned!

Well, you guys should be warned that you are most likely going to be disappointed with this game :/ If you must play it, I recommend setting your expectations for both gameplay and story to "low."

I agree strongly with Ludo. I doubt this game will be very good, I think it's cashing in on how cool Vincent is, and how much people like DMC.

I'm keeping it below "low", and near the "Horrible" setting. If it changes, it'll be for the better, right? :)

I'll be buying it probably when it's cheaper...it just sorta reminds me of Devil May Cry...but Vincent is my favourite character so I don't know ;)
